If you love skincare and aesthetic treatments you will no doubt be aware of Profhilo, the injectable moisturiser with a cult-like following. Profhilo body was, (until now), the latest development from IBSA Pharma, who are the manufacturers of Profhilo. Luckily for us, IBSA Pharma have been working behind the scenes on another Profhilo product that was launched in June this year.
Introducing Profhilo Structura
Profhilo Structura is the latest innovation from IBSA Pharma and is a revolutionary new product that offers a solution to firm and reduce the lines and wrinkles on our faces as we age.
Facial ageing is a combination of bone loss and fat redistribution. As we age we may experience a more sunken and hollow look to our faces. Profhilo Structura has been designed to correct this, with more natural looking results that can be achieved with dermal fillers.
What is the difference between Profhilo and Profhilo Structura?
Profhilo is primarily a solution for better looking skin and it is more of a superficial treatment than Structura. If you have had a Profhilo treatment before, you will know that it is administered via injections points around the face by a needle. Profhilo improves the look and quality of your skin and can offer a slight lifting effect.
Profhilo Structura is injected deeper into the skin and targets the fat pads that have degenerated over time. Structura is administered via a cannula and can improve the appearance of deeper lines, fine lines and wrinkles and add a more drastic lifting effect to the face than Profhilo does.
As well as improving skin laxity, Profhilo Structura firms and rejuvenates the look of skin as some of the product inevitably makes its way to the surface of the face.
Both Profhilo and Profhilo Structura can both be used in a maintenance protocol for anti-aging.
As well as having differences in terms of the results you can expect from these treatments the make up of these products is also different.
Here comes the science bit…
The main difference in these two products is the concentration. They are both a thermally stabilised hybrid complex (not just a mixture) of low and high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. Profhilo is 64mg in 2ml while Profhilo Structura is 90mg in 2ml.
