Picture this: the who’s who of the aesthetic world, a packed-out Wolfson Theatre, and a crowd full of glowy-skinned practitioners scribbling notes faster than you can say “bio-stims.” Yes, we’re talking about Wigmore Presents 2025, the aesthetic industry’s glitziest, geekiest, and glowiest get-together of the year. And guess what? Team Enhance Clinispa was there, front row, wide-eyed and soaking it all in.

From breakthrough skincare launches to fierce debates on polynucleotides vs HA fillers, Wigmore Presents didn’t just set the tone for the year ahead, it practically wrote the script.

Skin of Colour Masterclass: More Than Just Melanin

If there was one talk that had the entire room scribbling notes like they were back in med school, it was the Skin of Colour Masterclass.

From melasma to sunscreen (spoiler alert: nothing works unless you’ve nailed sun protection, thank you, Dr Mary Sommerlad), the session was a deep dive into what truly matters for treating skin of colour.

The standout takeaway? The Patient Promise. A commitment to understanding not just the science, but also the cultural and lifestyle nuances that shape skin health. We left feeling inspired, educated, and just a little smug that our team already prioritises these principles back at our Bolton HQ.

Polynucleotides: Are They Coming for HA’s Crown?

Polynucleotides: Are They Coming for HA’s Crown?
You better believe they’re gaining momentum,  but let’s set the record straight.

  • It’s simply not accurate to suggest polynucleotides are superior across the board.
  • I raised the question as to why Profhilo wasn’t mentioned during a talk focused on regenerative treatments,  it remains a leading bio-remodeller in this category.
  • While HA-based products like Profhilo may have limitations under the eye area, across the rest of the face, Profhilo continues to show exceptional performance.
  • Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin, but also supports subcutaneous fat regeneration and encourages the skin to produce its own hyaluronic acid,  an often overlooked benefit.
  • It’s also worth noting that polynucleotides have a short half-life of around 3 hours, whereas Profhilo remains active within the skin for up to 28 days, providing sustained bio-stimulation over time

In a lively panel led by Dr Zunaid Alli, the aesthetic world’s growing obsession with polynucleotides was dissected, debated, and, dare we say,  put under the microscope.

Validated?
Not quite. Let’s just say: the conversation was interesting, but far from conclusive.

Here’s the tea:
✔️ They’re regenerative.
✔️ They’re anti-inflammatory.
✔️ They’re ideal for delicate areas where HA sometimes fumbles,  like under the eyes.
But let’s not forget: so are other treatments.

Polynucleotides may offer an edge in certain indications, especially where HA isn’t well tolerated, but options like CO₂ laser can be more cost-effective, and arguably more effective in the right hands.

No, we’re not saying your beloved hyaluronic acid is done for. But if you’re not already exploring poly-stims alongside your HA staples, now’s the time to start thinking like a formulator, not just a filler.

And as for whether we’ve already stocked up?
We haven’t rushed out the door, but if it’s appropriate for the patient,, we’re absolutely ready to offer it.

ZO Skin Health Symposium: Three New Launches & One Huge Revelation

Oh, you thought ZO Skin Health was done revolutionising the skincare space? Think again.

Their Inflammatory Skin Concerns session, fronted by lead scientist Rick Woodin, was a masterclass in skin restoration, and no, it wasn’t just about actives. It was about inflammageing, that silent saboteur of skin vitality. Think: redness, sensitivity, and premature ageing, all rolled into one fiery skin dilemma.

Dr Zein Obagi’s daughter also took to the stage, delivering what might’ve been the mic-drop moment of the entire symposium. Her take on principles of skin health restoration reinforced why ZO remains the blueprint for so many of us.

And the best bit? They unveiled not one, not two, but three new products, including a Redness Relief Defence Program we’ll be trialling at Enhance Clinispa very soon. (Watch this space.)

Tox Talks: Are We Using It to Its Full Potential?

Tox Talks: Are We Using It to Its Full Potential?
Let’s keep it real,  there are more toxins on the market now than ever. But are we really making the most of them?

That was the key question posed by Olivia Salmen and a powerhouse panel of injectables experts, including Dr David Eccleston and Prof Syed Haq.

The conversation dove into neuromodulation and the art of preserving facial movement,  because, let’s be honest, that’s what separates the “you look refreshed” from the “have you had work done?”

Now, let’s address the guest of honour: Daxxify (botulinum toxin A).

Yes, it got a lot of stage time, but let’s not forget Croma were the main sponsor, which may explain the spotlight. We’re not obsessed, and we

Skin of Colour Masterclass Wigmore Medical 2025certainly didn’t see anything that would convince us to move away from our current favourite: Nuceiva.

In fact, Dr Eccleston made a far stronger case for Nuceiva, supported by solid data and,  just as importantly, our own clinical experience over the past three years.

Injectables, Devices & Energy: The Future Is Fusion

From injectable radiofrequency to suture lifts, photon-based rejuvenation, and energy-assisted contouring, the injectables world is officially having a high-tech glow-up.

Led by Dr Stephen Mulholland, the “Injectable Facelifting” session highlighted just how far we’ve come from simple tox-and-filler tweaks. Think synergistic layering, multi-modal stimulation, and customised facial architecture planning.

It’s basically architecture, but for your face. And yes, we’re buzzing to bring this energy back to the treatment room.

So, What’s Next?

Wigmore Presents 2025 didn’t just feed our brains, it fired up our creativity. From product innovations to new protocols for skin of colour, from poly-stims to epigenetic skincare, the future of aesthetics looks glowier than ever, and a whole lot smarter.

At Enhance Clinispa, we’re not just keeping up with the science, we’re leading with it. If you’re curious about how these new treatments and insights could elevate your skin journey, our team is ready and waiting (cheeky banter included).
