There has been an explosion in the amount of non surgical fat reduction treatments over the last few years; from injectable and laser treatments to Coolsculpting, there are lots of new ways that we can target stubborn fat.
Fat dissolving injections have become a popular treatment for patients who want to get rid of localised fat deposits that they are having difficulty in reducing the look of. Aqualyx and Lemon Bottle are two brands of fat dissolving injections that many patients have become familiar with, however, not all fat dissolving injections are the same.
Is Aqualyx safe?
At Enhance Clinispa in Bolton, we use Aqualyx fat dissolving injections to reduce the look of stubborn fat for our patients. As a medical aesthetics clinic we put patient safety and treatment efficacy at the heart of everything we do, and we only provide scientifically and clinically proven treatments that are tried and tested and deliver the results that our patients expect to see.
Aqualyx is the world’s leading fat dissolving treatment and it can be tailored to patients individual needs giving precise results. It has been designed to dissolve fat cells which in turn can help to sculpt the face or body and restore balance and proportion. When Aqualyx is injected it sticks to fat deposits and breaks down the fat cells over a period of time. It does this without damaging any of the neighbouring skin tissues and has the added benefit of tightening the skin from the inside out as well. The fat cells that have been destroyed with Aqualyx are deposited by the body via a process of natural elimination, leaving patients with a visible reduction in localised fat.
Aqualyx can be used for the treatment of both the face and the body. Aqualyx jowl and double chin treatments yield particularly good results, and it also works well in all of these following areas:
- The chin
- Jawline
- Jowls
- Stomach
- Buttocks
- Thighs
- Arms
Lemon Bottle injections
Lemon Bottle fat dissolving injections rose to fame with successful social media marketing campaigns, specifically on TikTok, and have therefore become synonymous with fat dissolving injections. Although Lemon Bottle is now a well known brand there is little scientific evidence to back up the efficacy of this particular treatment. There have been no clinical or scientific trials to back up whether this product actually delivers results.
Recently, Swismedic, the Swiss drug regulator advised against using Lemon Bottle, stating that:
“No medicinal effect has been scientifically proven, the quality of the ingredients has not been tested and using the product may therefore pose a health risk” .
Swismedic also concluded that the composition of the ingredients stated by the manufacturers varied significantly from different samples and some of the batches contained none of the ingredients listed on the packaging.
In comparison, Aqualyx has been put through extensive clinical trials since 2009 and has been shown to be a safe and effective fat dissolving treatment.
What is Aqualyx treatment like?
Aqualyx is an effective and relatively pain free injectable treatment. After having Aqualyx injections patients may experience swelling, redness, itchy skin or irritation at the injection site, but this will normally subside in around 3 – 6 days and can be relieved with paracetamol or antihistamines. Patients will require a series of appointments to effectively target stubborn pockets of fat and this treatment will get the best results when used in conjunction with a healthy diet and lifestyle.
