Laser Hair Removal

Shaving, plucking, waxing or depilatory creams … These methods of hair removal can take time, but for people who prefer to have smooth, hairless skin, always and without maintenance, there is a solution.

If you are willing to spend a little more initially however, you could opt instead for a more permanent result: Laser Hair Removal.
This high-tech method uses light to actually destroy the follicle, leaving you with fuzz-free skin.

There are 3 main types of lasers to consider when it comes to permanent hair removal…

– Diode: The diode laser is very effective for light and dark skin. Compared to other lasers such as Alexandrite and Ruby lasers, the diode works between the depth of 808-810nm, which gives it a higher selectivity between the hair and skin around it with superior melanin absorption. Therefore suitable for all skin types including tanned and hair colours including blonde and red.

– Alexandrite: This laser is a powerful solid state laser and fastest of all laser types. It is part of the Ruby laser family and works best for treating larger body areas among patients who are have light-to-olive complexions. It is not ideal when treating dark or tanned skin types.

– Nd:YAG: This long pulse laser can be used safely on all skin types, including tanned skin. It is less effective for light or fine hair when compared to other types of lasers.

For these reasons when selecting our device we chose our high power Diode Device. It’s innovative technique, energy, precision and effectiveness using an optical fibre offers benefits never seen before in the field of high-end hair removal treatments. It is capable of performing super fast treatments with effective results, faster than other lasers.
Energy from the laser coupled with microlenses for precise and uniform energy distribution is transferred through the fibre, picked up by the pigment in the hair follicle, causing destruction to the root and blood flow to the follicle. Once this occurs it disables the hair growth permanently.

It is unique in that it offers a dual function of hair removal combined with skin rejuvenation simultaneously.

Skin rejuvenation is also an option as a stand alone treatment, and has great effectivity at treating age spots, enlarged pores, wrinkles, and unifying the skin tone.

Our device is complemented with blue diamond cooling and dual air compressors, which ensures safe, effective and completely PAIN FREE treatments.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can be treated with Laser?

Laser hair removal can work on any area of the body you wish. The most popular areas are bikini, lip, chin and underarm.

People with thick, coarse and dark hair are the best candidates?

If you have dark hair and have ever been annoyed with how stubborn it can be when it comes to regrowth and removal, this procedure is ideal for you. This hair type can however take a little longer to achieve results. Some hair is just very resistant, and sometimes new ones come out due to hormonal changes or other hair bulbs become active during the treatment period.

How do I know what skin type I am?

For the best and most accurate hair removal treatment we use our Phototype Detection Device at each session to obtain top-level results.

Will it work on my skin type?

Our device is suitable for ALL skin types. It can be used on a tanned skin and so is easier to fit in sessions during summer months.

Can I have treatment whilst on medication?

Laser treatment is incompatible with certain medications. Any medications that are photosensitive need to be stopped at least one week prior to treatment. It is also worth noting that most antibiotics can be photosensitive, so if you have an infection, it could be a good idea to push your treatment back a few weeks. If you are unsure if your medication could negatively affect your laser treatment, seek your GP’s advice beforehand.

Can I continue on my usual skincare routine?

Skincare with strong actives such as retinoids and Alpha Hydroxy Acids need to be avoided. These ingredients can increase the skin cell turnover, making skin more vulnerable to the sun and irritation during the treatment period.

How long until I see results?

On average results can be experienced after 6-8 sessions.
Everybody is different, so the amount of sessions it takes varies per individual. Laser hair removal works when the hair is in its active growth rate. Different parts of the body have different growth rates, and therefore could take longer or shorter depending on which area you are having treated.

Will it be painful?

Our device has built in blue diamond and air compressor cooling. This powerful, steady cooling system provides a pleasant and safe feeling throughout the entire treatment duration whilst ensuring utmost effectiveness.

What do I need to do before my appointment?

We ask that you shave the area you are treating beforehand so that the laser can penetrate into the root of the hair, this avoids targeting any hairs on the surface of the skin and ensures the most effective treatment results.

What about other hair removal treatments?

You should not wax, tweeze, or bleach the hair for one month before your session because the root needs to stay intact in order for the laser to effectively destroy the hair follicle.

Do I need to do anything after my treatment?

After each of your sessions, avoidance to sun exposure and sun beds is advisable and the use of a sunscreen is highly recommended. It is also worth noting that any hair growth between sessions should be shaved off — not waxed or threaded.

What is the cost?

The price you pay per session of laser hair removal can vary depending on the area being treated.
As multiple sessions are required to fully stop hair growth, we offer a course price which works out as a reduction of 10-15% than paying individually.

When it comes to being hair free for life and saving much needed time on a daily basis hair removal needs to be viewed as a long term investment. Just imagine the time it takes using razors sometimes daily or never having to schedule a wax appointment.
