Dermaplaning in Bolton, Manchester

Dermaplaning is a facial exfoliating procedure that removes dirt and the build-up of dead skin. This is a non-invasive procedure that guarantees immediate results with no downtime. Treatment at our Bolton skin clinic in Greater Manchester only lasts up to 20-40 minutes!

What is Dermaplaning?

Dermaplaning is another of our exfoliation techniques.

Dermaplaning is a superficial, painless procedure that removes a buildup of dead skin and microscopic/vellus hairs.

When left, the complexion can appear dull and flaky and may become prone to breakouts due to blocked pores and hair follicles.

Unlike microdermabrasion, which focuses solely on removing dead skin, dermaplaning also removes the vellus hair, which, from a make-up application point of view, is an absolute GAME CHANGER!

There is no peach fuzz showing through foundation/powders and no more fluff in the sunlight. Just a super smooth application and finish with a more effective absorption of skincare products.

Our Bolton skin clinic offers dermaplaning treatment throughout Manchester and the North West.

The Process of Dermaplaning Treatment

It's important to note that what happens before, during and after receiving dermaplaning treatment can vary depending on several factors. Please get in touch with us to learn the ins and outs of what you can expect from our clinic. However, we will do our best to summarise the typical process of dermaplaning.

Before you undergo dermaplaning treatment, you must speak to a specialist about why you want the treatment so they can examine your skin. You must take extra care of your skin in the run-up to the procedure. Days before undergoing dermaplaning treatment, you should avoid direct sunlight, not exfoliate your skin and avoid suntanning beds. Our skincare specialists will advise you beforehand on how best to prepare.

How long it takes to complete a dermaplaning session can vary. Most sessions usually last anywhere from a few minutes to an hour, but the duration will depend on the skin area you are having treated. You won't require an anaesthetic before starting the procedure.

During a dermaplaning procedure, we will use a special tool with a small blade which will run back and forth across your skin. Dermaplaning is painless, and you will likely only feel a stinging sensation. The blade does not penetrate your skin but will shave off the top layers of your skin.

As this is a non-invasive, painless procedure which doesn't require an anaesthetic, there is no downtime involved, and you can return to your everyday life immediately. The results are apparent straight away and will last for around a month. You may notice redness or swelling, which should only last for a week. Once the dermaplaning procedure is complete, our skincare specialists will advise you on how best to care for your skin, including avoiding the sun and strenuous activities.
